On 22 July, Club Mes Scènes once again highlighted the power of local culture by hosting a large open-air cinema evening in Fécamp, featuring the iconic French comedy Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatre.
Supported by several local companies, including OLVEA, the event brought together residents, families and visitors for an enjoyable evening combining culture, entertainment and community spirit.
From 7:00 pm onwards, participants gathered on the former casino car park overlooking the seafront. Equipped with picnic blankets and foldable chairs, attendees made the most of the warm summer atmosphere while enjoying a selection of food trucks and refreshments.
Children were also able to enjoy a dedicated activity before the screening. Between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm, storyteller Eric Maupaix presented "Cric-crac, il était une fois...", a series of tales and readings performed through kamishibai, a traditional Japanese storytelling theatre using illustrated boards. The activity proved popular with families and offered a creative and immersive introduction to the evening.
Throughout the event, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere prevailed. The weather played a major role in the success of the evening, with clear skies and mild temperatures creating ideal conditions for an outdoor gathering by the sea.
At 10:30 pm, as daylight faded over the coast, the audience settled in front of the giant screen for the highly anticipated screening of Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra. Laughter quickly spread throughout the crowd as viewers rediscovered the film's unforgettable characters and cult lines. The seaside setting added a unique dimension to the experience, turning a simple movie night into a memorable summer event.
As a member of Club Mes Scènes, OLVEA is proud to support initiatives that strengthen local cultural life and create opportunities for people to come together. Alongside the other companies involved in the collective, OLVEA believes that culture plays a key role in fostering social connections, enhancing quality of life and contributing to the attractiveness of the region.
The strong turnout and enthusiastic feedback received throughout the evening demonstrate the growing interest in accessible cultural events that bring communities together. The success of this edition is also a testament to the dedication of the organisers, volunteers and partners who helped make this event possible.
We would like to warmly thank everyone who attended, as well as all the teams and partners involved in organising this wonderful evening. We look forward to seeing you again at future Club Mes Scènes events.
